Today we installed this 6.625kW Grid Connect Solar System out at Kewarra Beach (shown here before DC isolators are fitted). This system comprises 25x GCL P6/60 265W solar panels, the Fronius Primo inverter and the Fronius Smart Meter.
The Smart Meter is an awesome add on for the Fronius inverters that allows you to view (in real time) what your system is producing, what you are consuming and how much you are drawing from or feeding back into the grid. It also will show you how much of your solar power you are diverting to your storage system when the time comes to install one (once they become financially viable).
We also have a large display set up in our office where we live monitor all our installs with the Fronius inverters, making it easy to identify any problems right away (although we are yet to come across any).
Probably the biggest advantage of this to our customers is to compare their systems power production to other systems in the area so we can advise on any loss from shading issues they might be having, or what roof aspect works well in their area. This information is priceless for customers and installers!
