The Sunny Solar Cairns team today installed a 6KW grid connect system.
The system comprised of 24x 250W German Munchen solar panels and a 5KW Fronius Inverter with export control.
Ergon Energy would not allow a 5KW system to be installed at this premises unless it was set up to export no more than 3.5KW at any given time.
To overcome this restriction the system utilises a Fronius Smart Meter in the main switchboard which allows the inverter to see how much power is being consumed by the home and to throttle the inverter up or down so that it never exports more than 3.5KW of power to the grid.
